Paraleptophlebia sp.
I was just identifying some today (after your visit), and looks an awful lot like a male P. moll*is, but I will stop short of stating that firmly.

Mayfly identification
Tom-

Family: Polymitarchidae
Genus: Ephoron
Lifestage: imago
Sex: male

Ephoron winged stages (subimago and imago) are characterized by 2-tailed males and 3-tailed females. Only the male has a final molt to imago. Female subimago is sexually mature, and doesn't undergo a final molt.

Actually, this specimen is a Leptophlebiidae, probably Paraleptophlebia. It is missing the left cercus (tail). Ephoron males are much larger, do not have such clear wings, and do not have the modified dorsal portion of the eye the way this specimen has.

Leptophlebiidae
Thanks for the ID David. There aren't many adult mayfly pictures to compare.

Ephoron
Thanks for all the info about the ID Roger. There aren't many pictures of adult mayflies on the web, so it's hard to know what they are.
