Tiny red fly

Tiny red fly
NAshville, Davidson County, Tennessee, USA
September 8, 2009
Size: 3.5 mm
Not a great shot of this odd looking fellow. Seems to be covered in fine hair, and the remarkable antennae size and color look to be definitive, but I can't find a match in the guide.

Moved
Moved from Encyrtids.

Just a guess ...
... but it's likely to be the genus Anagyrus (based on the color), although I can't definitely state it is so.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Confirmed Encyrtidae…
The broad convex mesopleura, a convex mesonotum, large egg-shaped eyes, and 5-segmented tarsi indicate a member of this very diverse-looking family.

See reference here.

Wasp
Those look like wasp antennae.

Now that you mention it
Yes they do. Ok, tiny red wasp?

-V-!
Looks like you have done it again. I'll try to get better photos if it shows up again.
