Cryptophagidae? - Bystus ulkei

Cryptophagidae? - Bystus ulkei
Ross County, Ohio, USA
August 28, 2009
Size: 2mm
Here's a nice beetle(s) I collected under dead logs (Quercus sp.) with obvious fungi. Thought at first blush Leiodidae, but under the scope it looks more like Cryptophagidae (dense erect setae, lateral carina, 3 segmented antennal club, etc.) I'm thinking Henotiderus (Crosimus)? Pictures are a bit lame due to the strongly convex habitus. Would enjoy any thoughts regarding this guy. Ken Karns-Ohio
