Could it be a Swamp or Shadow?

Not ringed enough and the thoracic stripes are too thin for Swamp.

...I just want to make sure I understand. Is this definitely a Shadow or are you just eliminating the Swamp from the two I mentioned?

 
yes Shadow
General brown coloration, reduced spotting, and thoracic pattern eliminate other Aeshna.
