Found these on the underside of a leaf in a potted plant. Anyone know what these are?

Here is an image of the plant:

Moved from ID Request.

It may eventually be ID'd here on the "puzzle page" - I'm curious myself!

The flower in the photo you linked is a vinca (periwinkle relative).

Any developments?
Has anything happened with these? Are/were they animate objects? I ask because it looks to me like they're attached to the plant tissue--maybe some kind of gall or fungus (or fungus gall). There doesn't seem to be any consumption of the leaf tissue, as I would expect there to be if these were chrysomelid larvae (which typically eat holes in the middle of leaves, rather than feeding at the edge). I'm also curious why this leaf looks so different from the others it's on top of--it looks like it could be a flower part (but obviously not a part of the flower in the linked photo).

Just a guess
Chrysomelidae (Leaf Beetles)

I have seen several beetles but I searched the site with the name you gave me and found a photo of this one which I have seen in the area. Not on this plant, but in the area around there. Chrysomelidae - Omophoita cyanipennis

Raise some
and see what they become. You could be the one who finds out for all of us. Get something net-like with a fine mesh and put it over the pot.

what kind of plant?
Foodplant is really useful for identifying the insects that are eating it!

Abigail, this is the best I can come up with for now. It was a pot of a mixture of flowers (three types) but this was the plant I believe I found them on. Mr. Katy wasn't there at the time. =)

I unlinked these images...
...and included a thumbnail to the image with the host plant.

Thank you. Sorry for the confusion with the Katydid on the flower. That wasn't on purpose. But it does ad fun to a flower photo. =)
