Brown Lacewing larvae - August 31 - Hemerobius humulinus

Brown Lacewing larvae - August 31 - Hemerobius humulinus
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
August 31, 2009
When collecting insects to photograph later, I usually add a few leaves and plants to the container. I had placed a Honeysuckle leaf along with some Goldenrod flowers in a container. When I got back home, I was surprised to see that there were two cocoons on the leaf. At the time I had no idea what these would develop into. The larvae had formed the cocoons after I placed the leaf in the container.
