Thank you both. There is a fairly common Fungus Gnat in that area which strongly resembles web images, I've found, of Mycetophila. The web images of the larvae are also very similar. Unfortunately they are all from Europe.

but maybe one of the Fungus Gnats?

 
Must be...
Looks like a fungus gnat larva + eating a mushroom = fungus gnat larva, I think. Most of our images like this are in Bibionomorpha, but MJ is even suggesting a genus on this one, based on a drawing and description in a fairly current book.

Seems like Mycetophilidae should be safe, at least... altough some of our images of Sciarid larvae seem pretty similar. I wish an expert would comment on some of these.
