Flag-tailed Spineyleg - Dromogomphus spoliatus -
Dromogomphus spoliatus
Roswell, Chaves County, New Mexico, USA
September 8, 2009
Size: Large for a dragonfly
Only time I've seen this species. Was in an area with ponds but seemed to spend time away from water.

Great - thanks!
Rather than change the title of the image, though, it would be better if you tagged the image and moved it to the right place in the guide. The ID will then show up automatically.

Clubtail
Looking at the pic of a Brimston in Paulson's the eyes are blue where my subject has yellow eyes. Also Paulson's is subject's abdomen is a base of yellow with black on the yellow where mine has a base of black with almost white on top. Now I don't know anything about dragonflies so maybe there are variations of some kind - juvenile perhaps?
