Neorhynchocephalus sackenii (Williston 1880)
The species name honours Baron von Osten Sacken, an important early dipterist.
Identification
Posterior 2 veins at the apex of the wing are usually joined before the wing margin. Abdomen predominately yellow tomentose with sparse black tomentum at the bases of segments.
Range
Western United States and adjacent southern Canada, east to MI-IL-AR
