Goldenrod pedicellate gall. Parasites? - Platygaster

Goldenrod pedicellate gall. Parasites? - Platygaster
Horsham trail. Horsham, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA
September 12, 2009
Size: 1 mm. Cluster 3 mm
Found inside a pedicellate gall made by Rhopalomyia pedicellata on Euthamia graminifolia.

A cluster of 5 or 6 pupae. Other galls contain similar clusters, some with cocoons, others with what seem to be larvae, although they are so fragile and so tiny that I end up with a juicy mess.

Similar clusters in other galls:

Identified by Dr. Netta Dorchin.
