The brownish face and dark femora separate the female Slaty Skimmer
Libellula incesta from the female Great Blue Skimmer Libellula vibrans
which has a white face and femora which are pale in at least their
basal half.
The Bar-winged Skimmer Libellula axilena isn't found in north-central TX.
