Hi, Ilona- One possibility
Hi, Ilona-

One possibility is most definitely Agelenopsis potteri. The hooked tip of the embolus in your lateral view of the pedipalp is a good match to the drawing in Paquin & Dupérré.

A. potteri
Looking at Kaston (1948/1981), who includes drawings for A. emertoni, A. naevia, A. pennsylvanica, A. potteri, A. utahana, and A. kastoni, I would say that there is no doubt.

What do you all think?

(Great images, BTW)

Could be
I think it's very possible. It'd be nice to compare the drawings in Paquin, et al with a clear ventral picture of the palp as well.

Have you seen drawings of any
Have you seen drawings of any other Agelenopis species showing this distinctive hook? I've not (yet) seen any (but there are maybe a couple three species I've not seen drawings of). Kaston should be a pretty good reference for Tom's area (shouldn't it?).

Grass Spider
Thanks. This was one of my "captive" spiders so I managed to get quite a few shots of it before releasing.

Another photo from this guide in 2006 also shows a spider with a similar hook to the pedipalp.
