Cropped for a better, larger view of the insect. Although it's partially concealed, moving to Guide page because comments contain useful information.

Info
I'm not saying this image doen't belong in the guide, I just wanted to point out that in my opinion it is best if useful information is placed on the info pages rather than lost on an image somewhere in the guide. Then the images can stand or fall on their own merit, but anyone can always easily find the information on the info page.

I just haven't updated that Guide page yet...
My Internet connection at home is broken and I couldn't update that Guide page yesterday after work. I'm going to add the info when I've got a little break time today. I didn't want to lose track of it myself by frassing right away.

1/2 inch seems...
...a little large for one of these.

possibly a visual approximation, though
No
Hippodamia
sp. is over 8 mm long (~1/3 inch), according to Gordon;
(
1
)
he gives 7.3 mm as the maximum length of
H. convergens
. As a rough visual approximation, though, 1/3 inch looks distinctly larger than 1/4 inch and close to 1/2 inch.
The elytral markings are consistent w/
H. convergens
, discrete and evenly-spaced - other
Hippodamia
spp. w/ similar pronota tend to have confluent or diffuse spots. (Referring again to Gordon.)
