Unidentified True Bug - Ozophora occidentalis

Unidentified True Bug - Ozophora occidentalis
Encino, Los Angeles County, California, USA
June 29, 2003
Size: 1/4-1/2 inch
Near light on back porch at night

Moved
Moved from Ozophora picturata.

Looks like a Plant Bug
That crease in the forewing I was told is a characteristic of Miridae.

Lygaeidae.
This is probably a seed bug, but I can't make out the "cuneus," that crease that Tom seems to see here:-) Lygaeids tend to be far more common at lights at night than mirids. Update: Identified by Dr. Jane O'Donnell as Ozophora picturata. Making guide page.
