Blue Dasher - Pachydiplax longipennis - male

Blue Dasher - Pachydiplax longipennis - Male
Uvalde, Uvalde County, Texas, USA
October 1, 2005
I'm guessing Blue Dancer on this one but I'm not sure. Anyone?

AKA
In some places the Blue Dasher is called the Blue Pirate.....eithe way its stil P. longipennis.....just thought i'd throw that in...

Ah! The pain of English names
Blue Dancer would be a damselfly in the genus Argia. This is sometimes called the Blue Dasher. But it is definitely a dragonfly in the genus Pachydiplax, specifically P. longipennis

Thanks
Still learning...

Blue Dasher
It's Blue Dasher.
