Size: 1/8- 1/4 inch diameter
Found attached to the top surface of Wood Nettle leaf, bordering water.

Moved from ID Request. These are not eggs but galls, caused by a midge in the genus Dasineura. The species had not been named yet as of the writing of Gagne 1989 (1). If you click the "images" tab you will see some other examples of this type of gall.
