Autumn Meadowhawk - Sympetrum vicinum - Sympetrum vicinum - female

Autumn Meadowhawk - Sympetrum vicinum - Sympetrum vicinum - Female
Greenville, Providence County, Rhode Island, USA
September 20, 2009
Size: ~ 1.3"
Taken in my garden. I'm not 100% sure on the ID, except it's a female. What causes me to wonder is the light chalk-blue coloration along part of the abdomen and partly tan coloration of the eyes. Also, the "swollen" look of the beginning Abdominal Segments.. I've seen them looking close to this in field guides, but not as large as I see in this one. And, maybe a black ventral line. It was not possible to take photos at significantly different angles. I was surprised to get the shots I did. Usually, they move away when you approach.
