Laphria flavicollis?
Why isn't this Laphria flavicollis? It has long yellow scutellar hairs, and yellow hair laterally on the first abdominal segment. L. virginica should have shorter, black scutellar hairs, and an all black abdomen. That species looks more robust than flavicollis also.

Laphria
This appears to be a male Laphria virginica. Note the yellow hairs on the front and mid legs that are not as extensive as in affinus. The female of this species has almost no yellow hair on the legs. Very, very fine lateral shot of this species. Compare with male and female flavicollis.

thanks!
I moved the photos to the Laphria virginica page.
