Javelin Moth? - Aethes atomosana

Javelin Moth? - Aethes atomosana
Brighton, Monroe County, New York, USA
September 14, 2009

Moved
Moved from Cochylini.

3754.3 - Aethes atomosana [old Hodges 3810]
Identified as probably this species by Michael Sabourin, Referee for Cochylini at MPG, to whom I sent the photograph. (no rsvp, thanks)

Moved
Moved from Moths.

Tortricidae: Cochylini; probably Aethes sp.
A very lightly marked individual, or perhaps a species for which we have no photographs for comparison. (no rsvp, thanks)

None of the Above....
I always try to consider every photo at MPG before making a comment. None of the 4 photos at BOLD impress me as being more than a long-shot possibility for your moth. The Cochylini are a problematic group. Comparatively little is known about this tribe of Tortricidae.
