Large Syrphid - Milesia virginiensis

Size: about 20-22mm
This was the size of a large queen yellowjacket, and it's wings sounded like a wasp when it flew.

Of the genus Milesia there are 3 species in North America!
Nice specimen, in Europe we have a similar species.
