Explanation of Names
Specific epithet from Latin consobrina meaning "cousin, relation" for its relationship to "pulveratana Walsingham, of which it may prove to be a variety." (2)

Range
Mississippi River to the eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains and from South Dakota to southern Texas and Mississippi. (3)
Types: Elk Point, Union Co., SD (C.N. Ainslie, Aug., 1913); Sioux City, IA (C.N. Ainslie).
Season
Two flights in Texas from March–April and September–November. Midwest records are mostly August. (3)
