This work includes a few corrections to the listing in Nomina Insecta Nearctica:
• Records of Cryptanura lamentaria (Cameron 1885) are noted as misidentifications.
• C. vallis Porter 1977 is listed as a junior synonym of C. ectypa (Cresson, 1873).
• The species count for the USA is reported as 4.
