Fuzzy bee or robber fly - Megachile

Fuzzy bee or robber fly - Megachile
Halifax, Halifax County, Nova Scotia, Canada
July 17, 2009
Size: 1.5cm

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Megachile (Xanthosarus) male
probably M. melanophaea (other Xanthosarus in NS are latimanus and frigidus)

Melissodes maybe?
Looks like a Digger Bee of some type to me, but best to wait for an expert to be certain.

not similar
note wing venation (2 submarginal cells in the Megachile), expanded front tarsi of the Megachile, body shape, etc.

oops
Well, at least I got the bee part right :)
