Fiery Skipper - Hylephila phyleus - male

Fiery Skipper - Hylephila phyleus - Male
West Ashley, Charleston County, South Carolina, USA
September 27, 2009
Size: 2.5cm
I can't tell if this is a male Fiery Skipper (Hylephila phyleus) or Whirlabout (Polites vibex) -- anyone know?

Moved from ID Request.

The jagged black borders and the stigma indicate a Fiery male.

Cool, I live in West Ashley too

Thanks, Ray.

I don't think it's a Whirlabout
Looks like a Fiery to me, but I'm no expert.

Thanks, Crystal.
