European Sowbug -
Porcellio spinicornis
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

This introduced species from Europe is the common sowbug in Alberta. In fact, I have heard, but as yet not been able to confirm, that this is the only sowbug in Alberta. This needs a new guide page.

Hey!
Well, it seems it's a Porcellio spinicornis. Note the rough surface and black head. Can't clearly seen, but its flagellum has only 2 segments, unlike O. asellus.

Although I haven't checked all, the names are generally correct (I mean those that has species name...)
I think Porcellio spinicornis is less common than O. asellus, therefore you don't see it very often.

- and from the internet research I did, I think it's spelled with an i, so I have corrected that. This is one for Beatriz's list of non-natives if she doesn't already have it.
