The robust size, vivid color patterning, depressed abdomen, and short ovipositor suggest this subfamily. There are many examples of tinted wings in this group. They can be found searching for hosts on foot in leaf litter like this one.

. I had this filed as an ichneumonid on my computer, but I don't remember seeing any with "tinted" wings before, so I was starting to doubt myself. I suppose someone will set us straight if we're wrong... sorry, I don't have a measurement for it.

Size?
Must be an ichneumonid, I think. We've had an expert trolling through these wasps on our site recently, so perhaps you'll get a subfamily or genus ID?
