NOTE: Black Mask! Since this trait is typical of T. linnei, it is often used to differentiate T. linnei from other related species; however, there can be overlap in some individuals/taxa (pruinosus & winnemanna and possibly other taxa).

This cicada was collected while singing the "typical" winnemanna (pruinosus group) call.
