Araneus male
Does this look like a lightly colored A. pegnia? Hopefully Kevin will see something with the palps.

 
About the only thing I see is
About the only thing I see is "Araneus", but John just pointed out a male orb weaver that looks rather similar: Araneus trifolium...

Not sure about A. trifolium
The short stubby macrosetae on the Leg II tibia of this specimen seem more robust than what I saw on my specimen of A. trifolium.

Well, maybe Lynette's suggestion of A. pegnia is a possibility? A side view of the pedipalps would be nice.
