Sawfly - Trichiocampus grandis

Sawfly - Trichiocampus grandis
Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
September 30, 2009
Found on willow.

Thanks Dave
I'm placing it under the species page for Trichiocampus viminalis, otherwise, it'll just be buried on the subfamily page without anyone seeing what this species looks like.

Tenthredinidae
Nematinae. Not Nematus. "Hairy" sawfly larvae as this most commonly belong to the tribe Cladiini. Trichiocampus viminalis is similar to this, and it may be this species; its larvae most commonly feed on poplar but it also has been recorded from willow.
