What wasp is this? - Vespa crabro

Size: about 2.5 cm
Some kind of wasp?

I found this critter on a sidewalk and took it home. It kept walking up my arm and I kept putting it down by my hand. It actually disappeared inside the house briefly, but I found it and got it back outside.

looks like the European Hornet, Vespa crabro
