Possible Heterocampa obliqua? - Cecrita biundata

Possible Heterocampa obliqua? - Cecrita biundata
Adirondack Mtns, New York, Wm. C. Whitney Wilderness Area near Tupper Lake County, New York, USA
September 17, 2009
Size: @ 1.5"
I discovered this cat feeding on the edge of a maple leaf on a mixed woods trail near Horseshoe Lake in the north-central Adirondack Mountains. Could it be larva from one of the Prominents or perhaps the Oblique Heterocampa, Heterocampa obliqua?

Moved from ID Request.

We don't see the line low on the abdomen that
we would expect in obliqua and that would also more likely be found on oak. The shape of the head and the fact you found this on maple would lead us to suggest Heterocampa biundata instead.
