he was flat just a while ago and now you can see his very full and green(!) belly. Neat how the color of its dinner shows thru!

Feeding
What did you feed your assassin/Pselliopus? We just found one today and would like to keep him in a proper environment and watch him grow. We found three juvenille wheel bugs the other day and another Pselliopus. The assassins are taking over our ranch. =)

green things!
lol! I took these shots back in 2005 but I looked at the tagged photo and see I made a comment about having fed it a green caterpillar. I have to look on an external hard rive to dig up the photos to see if i have other pics (I am sure I do) but as I recall I just unfurled leaves looking for tiny caterpillars. Anything soft bodied when they are this small are readily accepted. I currently have a little Zelus and had taken in a small group of either maple or oakworms (can't tell which yet) that came in on some polyphemus caterpillar food and have sacrificed them for its dinner ;)
Good luck with it! :) I'll let you know if I did up any more pics...
Annette, after posting above I did dig up another photo and even though it makes me a little queasy to look at even now (I am very partial to caterpillars because I rear them) it's a neat shot of the little fellow feeding on a Bombyx mori larva.

thanks!
I find mini-beasts to be some of the best subjects for photos - fun to make captions to go with them! lol!
