Grass Miner Moth - Hodges #1024 - Antaeotricha albulella

Grass Miner Moth - Hodges #1024 - Antaeotricha albulella
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
October 1, 2009
Same white moth I saw a few weeks ago, just snuggled up. Wondering if this specimen might look more like a Vestal Moth (A. vestalis)

Moved
Moved from Vestal Tiger Moth.

Way To Start The Week
With another new species for Bug Guide, bringing my total to 31 ... for now

Can't be-
This does not look like a Spilosoma at all. The wings are parallel-sided, the folding position and antennae look wrong and the thorax isn't fuzzy.

This looks much closer to something like the Antaeotricha it was placed in before (what happened, was this placed in vestalis accidentally?)

edit-

AH, the confusion happened because the species name is the same. This moth is A. vestalis, not S. vestalis!

Moved
Still curious about distribution at opposite corners of the country.

Moved from Antaeotricha.

Looks Like It
(no rsvp, thanks)
