Stink bug id? - Thyanta pallidovirens - male - female

Stink bug id? - Thyanta pallidovirens - Male Female
Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California, USA
July 31, 2009
I think this is a Western red-shouldered stink bug Thyanta pallidovirens

Note that the lower one does NOT have the red band and looks very similar to these.
This was shot by me in the same garden in Long Beach, CA different date

This is someone else's from Riverside, CA

These two stink bugs are very similar. What do you think. Are these all the same species? Does that give a clue?
