Hesperapis sp? - Hesperapis - Male

Size: BL about 7 mm
We saw these four bees sleeping in Dune Sunflower (Helianthus niveus) at DiGiorgio Road, Borrego Springs. I suspect they are sleeping males, Hesperapis sp. Am I on the right track?
