Took 3 uneventful weeks from the time I found this spider until the eggs hatched (June 29 to July 20). There was another spider of a similar type doing the same thing about a foot below this one that didn't have such an uneventful time.

It reminds me a lot of one I found here in Puyallup. However, I'm not sure they could be the same with yours guarding its egg sac in June and mine in August. See image here:

 
I see what you mean,
they do look quite similar. The most distinct difference I see is in the legs. My spider's legs appear longer and thinner. I would wonder is another defining difference where each spider prefers to lay its eggs?
