Bee Assassin
I have added a 2nd picture because I have had that image identified both as the Bee Assassin & the Leaf-footed Bug {this one from Anne Arundel Co., MD). I even have a 3rd one with different coloring that has been identified as both. This seems to be a very confusing family.

Nothing confusing, at least at the family and genus level
The brown one in the small picture is clearly Acanthocephalus sp., a Coreid, that is Leaf-footed bug. They are vegetarians that suck plant juices.
The one with red borders is just as clearly a Reduviid, an assassin bug in the genus Apiomerus. These are predators. Again, no doubt about family and genus. The 'guessing' part of the answers only refers to the species level. At the moment, the species in the genus apiomerus are in need of revision (generally, not just on the BugGuide).

This looks like...
...a Bee Assassin (
Apiomerus crassipes
) to me also.
I have unlinked these images. We only link images of the same specimen. I will include a thumbnail of the Leaffooted Bug in the caption.
-EDIT-
Nevermind, somebody beat me to it :)
David, please post the third image also.
