tiny reddish beetle, Henoticus? - Cryptophilus

tiny reddish beetle, Henoticus? - Cryptophilus
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
October 6, 2005
Size: about 2.5mm
One of a few beetle visitors to my UV lights last night. It was warm and humid out and I was curious to see who showed up at the lights this late in the year. All orders of insects that showed were sparsely represented.

Moved from Cryptophilus.

Hi,

I'm sorry Boris, but it is a Cryptophilus!

Jens (from Germany)

Thank you, Jens.
You must be the person Boris has mentioned who is studying crytophagids. Please click on your name, taking you to your registration/profile page, and add a bit about yourself. Many of us like to read about bugguide users as well.

Good! Thanks, Boris.
I've added the genus with question mark, leaving it on family page.

Placed with Cryptophagidae.
Dorsal habitus and antennal structure makes me confident this is the proper family.

Resembles
