Least-marked Euchlaena
It sounds like a good choice. I'll have to try and rear this one, since I haven't seen the adult yet. Thanks again John & Jane.

A perfect match for Euchlaena irraria
in the old book. That species is not in the new book, but you can see the similarities to pg 172. Unfortunately, we swear he uses the exact same caterpillar in his description of Euchlaena obtusaria in the old book. We don't see any obvious differences between the pictures!!
He says irraria has low dorsal transverse ridges on A1 and A5, while obtusaria has "udderlike protuberences" over A5 and smaller warts over A1. These look more like ridges than udders to us!
He does specifically mention oak in the list for irraria and not for obtusaria.
