This is probably A. labiculata, the underside seems to confirm
The underside of A. mali is apparently entirely black, unlike A. labiculata. This is an important piece of evidence in unravelling the two species! Thanks for posting. And if you see more Anatis, please photograph the underside.

great ventral image!
Thanks for posting this large, clear, detailed ventral image - we have far too few of these. So many keys describe the postcoxal lines and hardly any photos show them.

Just a comment on what I used for this image -- I bought one of those small, clear plastic boxes sold in variety stores for hobbyists. The containers work well for taking these views since you can turn them over to get the ventral view and the insect can't escape.

good tip!
I've just been flipping them over, and they do that defensive pulling-in of the legs and head so not all the useful details are visible. Good for color and postcoxal lines, but not mouthparts and tarsi. I have a lot of clear gem vials (I collect gemstones when it's too cold for insects) and they're just the right size for a lady beetle.
