Distribution: Texas: In caves and canyons/grottoes of the Balcones Escarpment, Hill Country, from Georgetown to Austin to San Antonio to Del Rio. Commonly found under limestone rocks that are in shade of oaks.
Sting: Unknown, but reported to be very painful.

Collected by Brian McMinn of Hays City (near Dripping Springs, SW of Austin). These and Centruroides vittatus can be found in and around his house.
