I collected a bunch of spiders for Rod to ID, this is one of them.

Rod says: a male in the fall is usually going to be segmentata.

The Metellina is definitely segmentata. No previous record from that grid area.

That's why in Germany it's called the "autumn spider". But that can trip you up here, as we also have Metellina mengei, which is generally mature in the springtime, but can also sometimes be found in the fall.
