Salticid - Evarcha? - Evarcha hoyi

I was reviewing some video taken this summer when I found the footage from which these stills are taken. After looking through BG it seems like this might be Evarcha hoyi but I am not at all certain. Comments will be most welcome!

Well that was easier than I thought.

According to Edwards (8.3MB PDF), E. hoyi is the only Evarcha known from eastern North America, and E. proszynskii is in the western states.

Finally, E. falcata is currently listed in the World Spider Catalog as Palearctic, which means we have two old mis-ID'd photos in the guide, at least for the next few minutes. Very easy mistake for the original identifier, considering the lack of data available at that time along with E. falcata's previous synonymy and subsequent placement on North American checklists.

What was the size? You may want to check out the genus Eris

Hi Drew . . Thanks for your suggestion . . .I did
consider Eris and Pelegrina. The three species of Eris in my area all have chelicerae that project forward (prognathus) and this spider doesn't seem to show that characteristic. Size-wise I'm not precisely certain but the spider is shown on a maple (I believe) leaf and it was small (tiny?).
