Butterfly - Leptotes marina

Butterfly - Leptotes marina
Walnut, Los Angeles County, California, USA
October 14, 2005
Size: 1"
This butterfly is a bit small, and in the photo appears reddish, but is not. She was really a light blue color, much like the center of her wings in the photo on the right. However, when landing on red geraniums, she seems to favor the color of the flower. when flying she is a baby blue. I am searching for an id on her.

Not sure, but
looks like it could be a Marine Blue. The many-lined pattern on the underwing, and the one or two black spots on the trailing edge make me think Marine. Compare with this.

Marine Blue
Yes Chris and Tom,
Amazing how the color changed when sitting on the flower, but in the air is just like the Marine Blue!

Blue?
Maybe some kind of blue?
