I recently saw comments on other images indicating that O. concors is the only eastern Osbornellus with the mottled head pattern. I'm guessing Houston TX is not considered eastern?

Osbornellus
There are several
Osbornellus
that look similar to this. Could be
O. scalaris
, [i]O. borealis[i//i] or something else. Wish I could be more help, but I still have a lot to learn about this genus.

Thanks
I'll leave it here for a bit, before moving it to genus level if no one has a species ID

why?
I don't understand the rationale for leaving a photo under misc. when you know the genus, just because you don't have a positive species identification. There are many genera (Chlorotettix, Erythroneura, Osbornellus, Scaphoideus, Scaphytopius, etc.) for which it is usually impossible to identify the species merely from a photo.

I took Robert to mean that he
I took Robert to mean that he personally couldn't ID it past genus, but that maybe an expert could. So I was going to leave it here for a little while longer to see if someone could ID it to species. I now realize that genus is as close as we can get, so I'll go ahead and move it there.
