Neotropical genus ranging into FL (mostly coastal areas of so. FL) where it's represented by 3 endemic spp. + a widespread Caribbean sp. (which may or may not be native to FL)(1)
Driftwood & litter of coastal hardwood hammocks(1)
our only representative of the large tribe Anchonini Imhoff 1856, that contains ~30 genera of which 20 are neotropical and the rest are in E Asia and on Indian Ocean islands(3)
