Spunky Little Spider - Phidippus audax

Spunky Little Spider - Phidippus audax
Los Angeles, California, USA
October 15, 2009
Size: 1"
Found in the bathroom, captured, and released it into the garden. This little guy (or gal) has a lot of attitude. Never turned its back on me and was very calculating. One of the most striking spiders I've seen around the house. Its blue fangs are beautiful and can be seen from very far away. I also like the pattern on its body that looks like a face. It moved very confidently. After I opened up the lid to release it for freedom, it hung around cautious about its new surroundings. Didn't know what it could do until it took a big leap on to a leaf. I underestimated it. Even when in the safety of the garden, it kept staring at me. Seemed very observant. Really spunky little spider.
