Wasp hunting larvae - Ancistrocerus spilogaster - female

Wasp hunting larvae - Ancistrocerus spilogaster - Female
Alameda County, California, USA
June 24, 2009
Probing buddleia leaves stuck together by a moth larva, Pyramidobela angelarum. The larvae () live between the leaves when young. In summer, I often saw wasps drilling into the deformed leaves, evidently preying on the larvae. Photo taken at 11:57:20.

Mason wasp
Mason wasp of some kind (Vespidae: Eumeninae). Great image demonstrating behavior and anatomical detail.

Thank you
I'm always looking for behavior.

Two shots before this one show the wasp searching on the leaf. I'll add them.
