Cafius lithocharinus
I'm pretty sure this is Cafius lithocharinus based on the pale apical margin of the elytra. When present this seems to be a good / readily visible diagnosis for this species.

It seems to lack (obvious) pubescence on the abdomen, so I think it may take the couplet opposing that of
C. canescens
and
C. seminitens
in the key of Orth and Moore's 1980 revision.
I've been quite busy with work for months now...but I'll try to see if I can make any progress with that key if and when other obligations settle down (though my photos and ID skills with this group may well be insufficient for the task). Thanks again.
