Bombus mixtus?

Is that pinkish stuff at the corners of the mouth natural? a fungus? or just sloppy eating?

I think this is a subgenus Pyrobombus male
could be mixtus or if not flavifrons

What a great looking little fluff ball :)
GREAT shots. Wonder what it was doing with that mid leg -- scratching? just stretching? repositioning? defending from the camera lens?

One of my kitties does that, then rolls onto her back whenever she wants a tummy rub. Since I've got additional shots of this fluff-ball doing this on her other side, as well, I'm guessing she's cleaning . . . or shooing me away so she can have some privacy while grooming . . . maybe I should have tried rubbing her tummy.

Maybe..
its waving hello. Great Shot!
